Transportation
The most common way to reach Pangong Tso is by road from Leh. You can hire a taxi or jeep from Leh for a day trip or an overnight stay. The journey takes approximately 5-6 hours and involves crossing the Chang La pass, one of the highest motorable passes in the world. Shared taxis are also available, but they may be less comfortable. Inner Line Permits are required for Indian nationals and Protected Area Permits for foreign nationals to visit Pangong Tso. There are no direct bus routes to Pangong Tso.
